Something charming to make for your special MUM! Selected and die-cut by ChrissieCraft, this lovely creative applique kit has pre-bondawebbed LIBERTY Tana Lawn Serif MUM lettering, two hearts, two flowers and two butterflies to embellish, on a cream-on-cream roses quality background fabric, with a toning genuine LIBERTY patchwork cotton border.
Background fabric is 20" x 13", border fabric strips are 2.5" wide. There is enough to cut the strips to the correct size to go on the top and bottom and each side of the project.
You will need to supply a backing fabric if you are making a cushion (I suggest an envelope back) and a cushion pad. If you want to make a wall hanging instead, you will need backing fabric, cotton wadding and binding. 2oz wadding is recommended.
Quilt round the applique shapes either by hand or machine quarter of an inch from the edge on the background fabric. Add other quilting as desired.
Gently wash in warm water the background fabric and line dry. When almost dry, press through baking parchment (to protect the fabric) to remove any creases.
Peel off the Bondaweb backing paper, position the pieces in place and carefully and with a medium/hot iron through baking parchment press the shapes into place. Once cool, machine or hand sew, using a small buttonhole stitch or back-stitch round the edge of each shape to permanently fix.
Using a quarter inch seam, add your borders to top and bottom, then sides.
Complete as you wish.
