This is the fruition of several months' effort. Sitting in a base of the most beautiful wood, shaped, waxed and with a baize bottom - fitted with a candle shaped bulb and switched electrics and a 7.5ft long gold coloured flex. The base is 25cm long x 15cm at the widest of the arc and 4cm deep... It is very sturdy and wouldn't be knocked off anywhere in a hurry. Set in the base are two pieces of 6mm art glass. The back piece is a "gold" blue, the top is organically shaped and is filled with tiny air bubbles caused by the trapping of air as I used two plates of glass together to achieve the depth. Whether it is the day or evening light, this is a piece of art that will delight in itself. At the highest point, the glass measures 28cm tall x 20cm wide. The front panel is curved to surround the bulb - and is also organically shaped at the top.. This glass is almost the "Aurora" - with blue green & white "shifting shapes" over the mountains with tiny pink dichroic specs and green inclusions fused within it. I was incredibly fortunate to be in a fiord in Norway to experience the Aurora first hand for several hours on the evening of the 1st February 2017 - a memorable date as you can tell! This is hubby's absolute favourite piece as whether it is wanted as a sculpture or a lamp - I feel very lucky to have been able to achieve this. It is a one off..
