The ‘Cromlech Island’ is so named for its likeness to the megalithic tomb structures over Britain and Ireland, which are very simple ‘legs with a table’ designs that have lasted thousands of years.
This is a custom-made item and cannot be returned unless faulty.
Please note that if your order is being posted outside mainland UK, you (or the recipient) may have to pay customs or VAT charges and a handling fee. The seller is not responsible for any charges or fees that may incur.
Slim and sturdy in form, the 'Cromlech Island' is designed with versatility and utility in mind.
The dense straight lines of the high quality new oak surface contrasted with the reclaimed handmade and painted shelves below make it an ideal addition to any home, whether more country cottage or chic.
It can be used as a freestanding island, breakfast bar or a work surface placed against the wall. Each island is made to order to fit your space perfectly, and production time is between 3-4 weeks.
The Cromlech Island pictured is a slimline version (Depth: 50cm; Width: 160cm), a more traditional squared version is also available (Depth: 65cm; width 100cm), both with a height of 90cm. However, all islands are made to custom sizes, so please get in touch with dimensions.
The shelves are constructed from reclaimed wood, painted with chalk paint, then finished with furniture wax. Colours available are Antique white, Duck egg blue, Sage green & Winter grey. We try to preserve grain markings, but can also paint opaque dependent on preference.
Every island is lovingly handmade and finished with close attention to detail. Due to the nature of working with reclaimed wood, each build will have it's own unique marks and charactersitics, and will therefore vary slightly from the photos above. If you are unsure about colours and finish, please do get in touch with any questions or photos of the space you are planning for your island's placement to discuss.
