When I first began to make jewellery I gathered together bits and pieces from travels and played around with combining different semi-precious stones and colours - creating something new from something old. I moved on into silversmithing but I've never lost my fascination with these more exotic pendants or my love of colour. This is a good example of both!

Full description
The focal point of this necklace is a lovely vintage embossed silver and carnelian pendant from Central Asia, probably Turkoman. The pattern is beautiful and the carnelian is a glowing vibrant deep orange-red. The back of the pendant is plain hammered silver, in excellent condition.
I have strung the pendant on some matching deep orange carnelian rondelle beads, interspersed with sterling silver beads which I think go well with the glow of the carnelian. The carnelian rondelles are uneven in shape, which I love - I think this goes with the boho style of the necklace. The ends are double-crimped and the necklace closes with a sterling S hook.
The pendant measures 5.5 cm (2.25 inches) long and the length of the necklace is 46 cm (18 inches), including the clasp.
