This leather is from an old settee, and was destined to be made into shepherds' jerkins in the outdoor nativity play in Connisbrough last year. Fortunately for me, it was deemed 'too heavy' and eventually made its way to my workshop, where I couldn't wait to make it in to a sketchbook. The handmade paper used for the endpapers matches the dark pink suede inside of the leather, and will look fabulous with colourful ink sketches and notes inside!

Full description
This book has 200g/m2 watercolour paper with a textured surface and is a landscape-format sketch/notebook. The leather cover varies from medium to dark burgundy and is hard-wearing leather. The pages are sewn directly to the leather with South African wool and this allows the user to fold the book completely flat when working in it and means that if notes and photographs are slipped into the book, it will not burst the spine. The endpapers are block-printed Indian paper with a bright yellow and dark pink quatrefoil pattern. Size is 18.5cm x 13.5cm and 3cm thick. This sketchbook is unique, signed and numbered (2,088) and comes in its own hand-made gift box.
