Iroko is an African hardwood and one we would not normally use in our products as we like to use locally sourced English hardwoods . The exception to this is our use of reclaimed woods usually from old solid wood worktops which have been removed during kitchen renovations. We like to re- purpose them into kitchen boards, and give them a new liaise of life.The wood is cleaned and re- sanded to a high quality finish, then lovely waxed with our own blend of food safe refined beeswax and medicinal grade mineral oil to restore its former glory. Iroko has a beautiful rich colour darker them our native oak, but is just as hard wearing and will give years of service with a little bit of loving care.
