Made from driftwood found on my local beach.

Tensegrity is a term used for structures that get their structural integrity through the tension. In this case the tension in the string is what gives the sculpture its gravity defying appearance.

To be as sustainable as possible no harmful chemicals are used in the cleaning and sanitising of the driftwood. It is done by boiling the wood in water over an open fire, using off cuts and scrap pieces of wood.
This is also why I offer free postage and packing, as I will try to reuse packing materials to help reduce the amount that ends up in landfill.

The inspiration for this came from rummaging through my stock of driftwood to see what pieces would fit together nicely.

This can be quite a long process as I like to keep the sculpture as natural as possible,without the need for extra cutting and shaping
