Here's the second Stitch Dictionary page! This page features a range of chain and knotted stitches

This is a printed cloth with layout guides to practice embroidery stitches, useful for both beginner and seasoned embroiderers. Printed on 100% cotton fabric in the UK, once completed it can be used as a reference guide for your own designs.

Also included is access to videos where I demonstrate each stitch. Each stitch has been recorded separately, so you can quickly review the ones you need, and can be paused if you need to.

Designs have been laid out so that the completed pages and can be folded and sewn to make a double sided page, which can be put with other pages to build your own Stitch Dictionary.

I have used beautiful hand-dyed Paintbox Threads to complete my sample, and these are the threads I will be providing in my kits (coming soon). However, you can use any thread and it is an opportunity to experiment with different weights. I recommend 1 strand of Paintbox thread or 2 strands of DMC stranded cotton.

The idea developed from a small embroidery group I run, where members enjoyed learning the techniques almost as much as they enjoyed embroidering specific pictures!

The printed guidelines helped them get the hang of the technique and having the cloth as a reference to the stitches reminded them how to achieve them.

I've really enjoyed the designing and thinking about stitch families. More pages to come!
