‘Hug'
Signed, stamped, hand titled and mounted print of original illustration by Mark McPhelim.
‘Hug’ is a bittersweet reminder of 2020 at a time when we couldn’t be with the ones we loved the most.
Terms like 'shielding, self isolation and social distancing' entered our everyday vocabulary. Although the simple act of being together had been denied, it was the knowledge that this would not be forever and we all could eventually embrace once more.
Within my illustration, a couple divided by enforced distancing offer a virtual hug in the knowledge that they will be together again in time.
A time to look back on and appreciate what we have now.
