In these difficult times, I continue to work from home. I am only selling items which can be posted via the Post Box which is just outside my gate. I have a stock of stamps and packaging materials and, therefore, can stay open for business without imposing extra risk on other individuals. As usual, accessories featuring original embroidery, in association with felting, hand dyeing and fabric painting may be found in my other Folksy shop - 'Lynwoodcrafts'.
A pretty and useful trinket tray or dish, hand stitched in a tradtional patchwork design, in shades of sunny yellow.
A traditional patchwork design in the base of the tray, has been stitched from scraps of fabric including a lovely 1960s/70s print. This base has been hand quilted using a felt-like, thick 'wadding' and this helps to cushion the items which may be placed in the tray. The sides of the tray are also formed of panels of this wadding covered by a coordinating, floral print fabric. The sides fold flat for storage and/or postage. The tray may be re-assembled by tying the ribbons at each corner. Having hand-stitched the patchwork and hand quilted the base of the tray, I feel that this stitching is integral to the character of the item and so I decided to complete the item by hand.
tray base - 10 cm x 20 cm approx
depth - 3.5 cm approx.
Please note: the fabrics used for this item have been pre-washed in an attempt to remove any excess dye. However, as with any fabric items, care should be taken when using this tray in case any transfer of dye should occur.
