I have been walking along the coastline and across the hills, inspired by the book 'Windswept' by Annabel Abbs. Now, I'm busy working up ideas developing from these walks.

The coastline between Eyemouth and St Abb's Head is stunning, walking there never fails to amaze me. The colours of the sea against the rocks. The sound of the waves crashing and the birds calling. This scene brings back memories of happy days striding along cliff paths with a strong wind blowing and the sun shining through.
The piece is made with my own and dyed fabrics. I appliqué them with free motion machine embroidery to bring in more detail and texture.
(And I just found out that it's the location for Harry Styles's video for 'Adore You' !!)

A view of the coast near St Abb's Head, south east Scotland. Waves crash against the rocky shore.
I made this piece with hand dyed fabrics. It measures 20.5cm sq. It is framed in a black box frame that is 24.5cm sq.
