I love bees and am so committed to protecting our natural environment. We all know how important bees are for our survival, as are many other species on this beautiful planet, so I like using this design to raise awareness, as well as just loving making the designs.
The bee hive texture is created by impressing a repurposed bit of rubbish rubber car mat. The bees are made using a little ceramic mould I made, using a metal bee that fell off a key ring I'd been using. It's amazing what you can make using rubbish and broken things! The rough texture area of the pot is made by rolling a fir cone around on the clay surface.

Full description
This rustic terracotta 10cm x 10cm tile has a bee hive design impressed into it with a couple of bees visiting it. The tile can be framed, or used as a decoration on it's own.
Every pot will be unique, varying slightly in size, shape, thickness and colour, due to the hand-making and random glazing processes. Creating natural forms like this means that my pots may have wavy dips within them, or they may sit asymmetrically on surfaces.
