It's at least a 120 year old Oak found concealed in the walls whilst doing some repairs!. So I knew it had to be used again and after removing some nails and a good scrub I sawed it into suitable lengths and started turning. Lots of growth rings so it must have been an old tree before it was cut and used in our house. Very pretty little knots and that wonderful flecking so typical of oak. The acorn decoration I felt was very appropriate and I like to turn acorns so this is an English porridge stirrer and a very satisfying one to make...
