A stained glass suncatcher entirely handmade by me using the Tiffany copper foil technique.
A bee, must be a queen by its size (12cm long and 11cm wide).
The wings are textured iridescent and I've superimposed the lower wings to give a bit of a 3-dimensional effect.
The big yellow head is a golden glass nugget which I fused in my kiln. The eyes are little millefiori beads. I think this is a bead-eyed bee... a rare variety not often seen in Britain .
The bee hangs from a little silver chain which is securely attached to the top of the bee.
This item is absolutely unique. I never make two pieces exactly the same, I always use slightly different colours and textures of glass.
The listing is for one of the bees.
