I have been walking along the coastline and across the hills, inspired by the book 'Windswept' by Annabel Abbs. Now, I'm busy working up ideas developing from these walks.

As I cycle into town, I ride along a beautiful path bordered with wildflowers - they bloom from March right through to October. The flowers are so gorgeous they gladden the heart, I have sketched and photographed the flowers and use these resources to help me create my Urban Efflorescence series of textile art works.
And if you're wondering about the hoop it's based on - I find these around the streets of Newcastle - the metal hoops that attach hubcaps to car wheels! I like the idea of nature taking over and beautifying these redundant objects - don't you?
