Whilst woodturning, the shape and size of the bowl was determined by the wood itself. The colour pink goes beautifully with the grain of the wood.

This distinctive 'One of a kind' trinket dish has been woodturned from a solid piece of sycamore wood. It has been upcycled from reclaimed wood. Its uses are endless. Store your paper clips, your pot pouri, spare change, or Reiki practitioners your crystals. A perfect birthday present.
This dish is approximately 13 cm in diameter, approximately 3 cm in depth and approximately 6.5 cm in height.

This dish is hand wash only and not suitable for dishwashers.
I am a firm believer in upcycling using reclaimed wood whenever possible. I often recycle the packaging I send out my items in.
A piece of wood was selected and cut down to a suitable size then shaped on a woodturning lathe to a roughly finished final form. It was then sanded to a smooth finish. The coloured band on the dish was painted with black paint before the pink irridescent paint was applied. The pink started out as single droplets of paint before an airbrush was used to blow and spread out the paint to create the pattern that you see. The dish is smooth to the touch and has been finished with several coats of Lacquer to enhance the colours whilst also protecting the dish and highlighting the beautiful grain of the wood. The lacquer used is water and heat resistant, and toy safe.
