This is a very special handmade knitting belt with a firm stuffing of horsehair. I stitch these belts myself to a traditional pattern which has been used for a century. The whole belt is non-plastic, and totally sustainable with brass metal fixings, matching coloured and edged belt strap and the finished belt is wax polished: indeed a superior product. I post the belt to you in a compostable cardboard and paper wrapping - fastened with paper tape (no Sellotape!).

The 'wad' on the belt supports the end of the knitting needle and enables one of your hands to be freed from the need to hold the needle. It takes the weight of the work and lessens the effort. The sturdy belting leather is very strong and made to last.

My knitting belts are now to be found all over the world. I personalise the belts for you by the length of the belt. If you let me know your waist measurement over winter clothing, I will complete the belt to your size, with several inches variation either way.

The buckle may differ as my supplies change, but is still a superior component. Currently I have some very strong brass buckles and brassed rivets.

I have discovered film of these knitters, film that many people thought had been lost. By studying these films I have worked out the way they reduced the knitting stitch to just 2 movements, and none of these methods were the ways we knit today.
I craft lthem myself using traditional saddle stitching methods.
