I make my glass beads using a centuries old technique called lampworking (or flameworking). Using a propane and oxygen powered lampworking torch, rods of glass are heated to melting point and wrapped around a steel rod called a mandrel. Once the bead is complete it is soaked in a kiln at over 500 degrees celsius to strengthen the bead, and then cooled very slowly. No two handmade beads are identical, making each piece of jewellery unique.

Handmade glass drops in a reflective, silver rich glass, framed in sterling silver and hung from long, lightly hammered, hand forged sterling silver earwires. This is beautiful glass which has a mirrored, metallic finish.
