I am able to work with you to create a Walking, Hiking, Farming, Shooting or Wading Stick to your design to create a unique reliable stick for all occasions.
All my sticks are handcrafted using only Hardwoods, European buffalo horn, dear antler and other natural materials. I do not use precast imported resin stick topers. My topers and handles are knife and chisel carved, shaped and finely sanded then polished and sealed. The only bought in products are Metal collars and ferrules, as at present I do not have a working forge. I have selected above, a few examples of my recent commissions.
I describe my sticks as "Market " quality. This is because my sticks are intended for use, rather than to just sit in a hall stand and looking pretty. While I do make "Show" quality sticks, I much prefer my sticks to be a working tool with just that element that makes them distinctive and unique. If you have a favourite dog, what better way to accompany you both on your walks than a stick in the style of your canine companion.

I enjoy working with customers to create a practical stick that will be a friend for life. Stick making or using its correct guild name "Stick Dressing", has a long history dating back to our earliest times. Mankind probably used a staff or stick as an essential tool and aid long before we used stone and metal. The Celts have a special relationship to wood. Trees featured heavily in their spiritual life and beliefs. We still say knock on wood for good luck. This comes from a belief that trees harboured wood spirits that were both benign and mischievous, so knocking on the tree would scare the mischievous ones away.
