English Sycamore Yarn Bowl
For the discerning knitter, this smaller yarn bowl was handmade by me, from English Sycamore. Designed to make the most of the attractive grain, and with the various inclusions within the wood, this is truly a unique piece.
The bowl which is 115mm in height and 150mm in diameter has been given a protective and durable semi-gloss cellulose finish. The carefully crafted slot, which according to my wife, allows the yarn to be drawn from the centre of the ball without the irritation of tangles whilst keeping the material clean and immobile.
This would make an ideal gift for the enthusiastic knitter for any occasion or just to say thank you. It might even be nice to treat yourself.
Whilst all of our pieces are unique “one-offs”, handmade from locally sourced English woods in my small workshop in Grateley, similar items of varying styles and woods can be found elsewhere in my shop.
