This piece was made as a challenge for the Solway Quilters Group and has been exhibited twice, most recently during the Dumfries & Galloway Quilt Festival 2019, in Scotland.

Full description
A one-of-a-kind textile wall hanging, called 'Open Your Mind'.
It features a pieced background with appliqued felt and mixed media head and shoulders, with free motion machine embroidery and hand stitched stars. The words express the ways in which being a member of a quilting group benefits the members. These are sewn in cross stitch, and are appliqued to the patchwork. The piece is finished with some hand quilting.
The wall hanging measures approx:-
46.5 cm high x 33 cm wide
18 1/4 inches high x 13 inches wide
The art quilt has a hanging sleeve on the reverse, complete with a hanging dowel, so that the piece is ready to display. (You will just need to supply two nails or hooks of your own for it to hang from). The piece may be sent rolled or folded and may require a gentle press on the reverse with a warm iron, before display.
