Double Thrupenny Bit Coin Necklace
Hand made double coin necklace joining two genuine Sterling Silver old Threepence coins together, highly polished, hung from an 18" Sterling Silver Chain. On the rear there is a neatly concealed soldered bail to each coin to not only ensure the pendant will always hang straight but also that it can slide on the chain meaning it moves with you (please see photo which also shows perspective of size against a modern day five pence coin)
At only 16mm in diameter each they come together to make a dainty an unusual little necklace. Commonly known as the "Thrupenny Bit" or "Joey" these coins, a century and more ago, were traditionally baked in Christmas Puddings and considered to bring good luck to their finder though we can’t be sure teeth didn’t suffer!
For a perspective of size and to show just how dainty these coins are please see photo showing a modern day British five pence coin by its side
These coins are guaranteed Sterling Silver. We only use pre 1920 threepence coins which were struck in Sterling Silver. As pre circulated coins they each have their own little inclusions which add character and the genuine vintage look and feel
Your chance to own and wear two unique pieces of British history in one piece of jewellery!
