SILVER FARTHING

The farthing, or 1/4 penny, was a coin that was in circulation prior to Britain going decimal and there were 960 farthings to the £1. In 1937 the obverse design of the coin was changed from Britannia to a wren.

BIRTHDAY/ANNIVERSARY PRESENT

Minting of the farthing ceased in 1956. I have managed to acquire a large stock of these farthings with a complete date run from 1937 - 1955.

A farthing pendant with the year they were born or married would make an ideal birthday/anniversary present.

The coin is cleaned and polished, electroplated with a generous layer of .999 pure silver and mounted in a silver plated cabochon. The pendant is then given two coats of clear acrylic lacquer to protect it and then an 18 inch necklace chain is fitted.

The Size of the Pendant is 28 mm x 24 mm (approx. 1 1/8" x 15/16")
