Gorse and Heather is a multilayered image made by gel printing.
Image size is about 8" x 6" (18cm x 13cm) It has been mounted, using acid free mount board, to fit a frame size 10" x 8" (about 25cxm x 20cm). It has been signed and dated on the image.
Gel printing uses a synthetic gelatin plate to which paints or inks are applied. They can be drawn into or otherwise textured. Paint can be applied with rollers or brushes using stencils or masks. The process lends itself to multiple layers enabling the production of complex prints without the need for a press.
Any frame shown is for illustration only and is not included in the price. The frame and mount shown have been software generated.
The price is for the physical image only. I reserve all reproduction rights. In particular, although it is not my practice to make reproductions of my own work, this image may be used in whole or in part on other products such as notecards, mugs or apparel.
This piece is entirely abstract, the title coming from the colours, which suggest the heather moorland in North Yorkshire, where on a warm still day the smell of the blossom is so strong that walking on the moors is like inhaling honey, .
