When this discarded leg came into my collection I immediately saw it's potential.

I see a never ending scope to paint different shoes, stockings and garters.....

It will look amazing pinned on a jacket lapel!

Flapper Leg Brooch Brooch is a handmade replica of a real discarded antique doll leg from my collection. Probably from a late 19th Century china doll, but now sad and alone in the world, until it found it's way to me. After some small repairs, a mould was made, and then the fun began...... This version was inspired by the flapper girls of the 1920's, those shoes would definitely be great for dancing!

This brooch has been hand cast, and carefully hand-painted with acrylic paint and soft pastels, several coats of ceramic sealer have been applied to protect the painted finish. Yellow stockings, red bow garters and burgundy ankle strap shoes have been gently aged, so that the brooch has the feel of a real piece of antique porcelain.

There is a 25mm rollover safety pin at the back, which has been securely attached with epoxy glue. The brooch is approximately 60mm long, and 20mm wide.

Due to the nature of handmade items no two are exactly the same, making each brooch an individual.

My brooches don't like to go swimming, and should be protected from heavy showers of rain. It will come to you on a gift card, as shown. This listing is for the exact brooch as shown in the first three photos only.
