My mum asked me to make her a copper bracelet and I decided to make one with shapes cut out. I found cutting the shapes quite relaxing so went on to make some more.

Copper bracelet with 5 cut out hearts, made from 0.9mm copper sheet. I cut out a strip of copper, 2.5cm x 23cm, and then cut the shapes out of it with a jeweller's saw and shape the ends. These bracelets are bright copper, so once I have them cut I polish them. I then curve it into a bracelet and finish it off with a thin layer of Renaissance Wax to protect the surface. The bracelets are not a perfect shape because they are handmade and they also can bend where the shapes have been cut out, but they can be bent back to shape. Each bracelet is signed and it comes in a black presentation box (also signed).
I make these bracelets big so I can cut them down to a smaller size as required. For sizing, the best guide I've seen suggests you measure your wrist and add 2-3cm to allow for getting the bracelet on and off. It appears that 18cm or 7" is the average wrist size for a woman and for men it's 8" or 20cm. The bracelets I've made have a circumference of 24cm, but the copper is still quite malleable so they can be made a bit bigger or smaller. I have a pretty average female wrist and these bracelets are big on me. If you know you need the bracelet smaller, please let me know and I can adjust it before sending it to you. I also have a similar bracelet with leaf-like shapes cut out. If you have a specific shape you'd like cutting out, please get in touch.
