Our fridge magnets are hand crafted from Honister Green Slate from the Lake District. Approximately 1.5 inches diameter. Sizes may vary slightly due to the variable thickness of natural slate. A lovely ornament for the home or the garden.
Inspiration
Terry Hawkins is the creative force behind Loving Slate. Born and brought up in Liverpool, Terry fell in love with the wonderful landscape of the Lake District as a young man. While walking the fells and valleys of the North Lakes, he developed a deep appreciation of outstanding beauty of Lakeland Slate, and in particular Honister Green Slate with its rich texture and green hue. Having a keen interest in nature, he also derived immense joy from seeing birds and animals in their natural Lakeland environment. Being a talented and creative self taught craftsman, it was perhaps inevitable that Terry would combine his admiration of Lakeland Slate and his love of nature ...with incredible results!
