This necklace is a great, useful and unusual gift. It could be a useful addition to outdoors attire! It is quite rustic - the natural wooden beads look like dark orangey amber. The beads are around 2cm high, and are hand cut and lightly sanded. The cord is around 50-60cm, but can be altered as requested. Also possible for bracelet or lanyard usages.
The necklace cord is made from 100% nettle string. It is strong. The incorporated beads are handmade out of a type of wood often used for tinder to make fires . The wood is commonly known as fat or maya, wood. It is highly rich in natural oils that take a spark very easily in order to make a quick fire in the outdoors. This necklace or bracelet could be coupled with our bushcraft necklaces to provide an easy source of tinder to light with your sparks, but also lit easily from other sources of fire.
The best way to use the wood is to shave a bead into thin and feathery strips or sawdust, then light with a fire striker, lighter or other tool.
Keep other tinder to hand and add to build fire.
The product can be ordered in a smaller size (or trimmed) and easily used as a bracelet or lanyard to tie to a belt for example.
This product is 100% plastic free. The product consists of nettle string, wood and natural bead (or loop tied).
Please note photos are of large bracelet version, the necklace wil be longer thread.
All packaging is 100% recycled or recylable.
