Full description
I have carefully cut out shapes in brass and copper and attached them together with jump rings. The top shape is a brass circle of 11mm/ nearly half an inch in diameter; the next one ,in copper , is a long piece , curved at the bottom ,which I have given a textural surface and luscious red tones through a heat process. The next shape is a half moon brass shape , which ,like the top piece, has a matt surface texture .
The mismatched bottom pieces are made from copper and have gained the blue-green tones with surface texture through a verdigis process. These hang from the brass pieces with reddened copper jump rings. I have sealed the verdigris colours with a matt sealer to keep them as intact as possible . The circles are the same size in diameter (14mm) but one is a solid disc and the other a ring shape .
The textures and colours of all the shapes contrast but at the same time work very well together to produce an interesting pair of long dangle earrings
The total dangle is 55mm/ 2.25 inches. The earrings are fastened with sterling silver earposts and butterfly backs , so that the brass circle sits neatly on the earlobe.
Posted first class in a cardboard gift box with velvet insert and tied with ribbon ready to give.
