It started with the machine embroidered figure that a local lady makes and gives to a charity shop to sell. Together with the novelty buttons and the fabric that reminds me of the famous cherry blossom season in Japan the concept of the bag came together. Japan is near the top of my list of places to visit.

Full description
This delightful little fabric zipped pouch takes me to the cherry blossom trees of Japan. The turquoise cotton has a pink and white flower design and I have embellished the front of the bag with a machine stitched Japanese lady in shades of mauve,pink and blue with a novelty fan button. 6 kimono dressed novelty buttons complete the look. A clear vinyl front to this bag makes it stand out from the crowd.
The back of the bag has been hand quilted around the flowers and a lavender coloured all purpose nylon zip matches the kimono of my model. A silky lavender fabric has been used for the lining.
