At the edge is a drypoint print made using an acrylic plate and made on Somerset printing paper. Originally intended to have a sort of water's edge feel it was suddenly transformed when I turned it 90 degrees into a planet in space. You may see something again, but there is a definite feeling of being at the edge of something.
I have so far only pulled two proof prints pulled from this plate, both in shades of browns. Initialled and numbered on the face. (AP1/1, AP1/2). There will be a small edition of another 5 or so, probably in different colours.
Image size is 100mm by 120mm (4"x4.75") on paper about 280mm by 190mm (11"x7.5"). It is unmounted, but I can arrange this and framing if required. Please ask before ordering.
The mount and frame shown are software generated for illustration only and not included in teh price
About drypoint: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Drypoint
Drypoint is a fascinating medium. I still find it amazing the way in which some scratched lines in a sheet of plastic take on a new life once inked up and printed. Making the plate can be surprisingly demanding, since the scriber has to be held at quite an acute angle to produce the distinctive soft burr that is the particular characteristic of these prints. It combines well with other print forms too. I have used it as an overprint to collagraphs and to monoprints where the strong line works well against the softer forms underneath.
