The name 'Viking Knit' is a bit misleading as this technique isn't actually knitting at all! It involves forming a long chain by looping wire around a dowel. The dowel is removed & the chain then pulled through a series of progressively smaller holes in a tool called a draw plate, producing the finished chain.
This technique is so versatile - I can make them in up to three colours, &/or with beads - if you don't see your size or favourite colours in stock please just drop me a message so I can make one perfect for you :)

This fabulous bracelet has been made with black, purple & bright pink plated copper wire using the Viking double knit technique. It's a little trickier using three colours, but it creates a stunning pattern that's worth the extra effort! The ends have been finished with handmade end caps featuring a small spiral detail, & the bracelet fastens really easily with a gunmetal grey coloured magnetic clasp.
The wire used is copper plated with coloured enamel - it should retain it's bright shine, but if it does require a clean then please just use soapy water & a soft brush, rather than a chemical jewellery cleaner, which could remove the colour
The double knit method produces a gorgeous chunky chain. It measures 8mm wide, & is 20cm long. The bracelet will be posted out first class, in a 100% recycled (& reusable!) gift box, within a recycled polythene bag.
Note: magnetic clasps should not be worn by people with pacemakers - of you'd like me to swap it for a lobster clasp please just let me know!
