The inspiration for this fabric heart is the Luckenbooth brooch which is a traditional Scottish love token usually made from silver or gold and set with stones. Infact legend goes that Mary Queen of Scots gave Lord Darnley one as a symbol of love and devotion.

THIS IS A DIGITAL SEWING PATTERN NOT THE FINISHED ITEM.
This Luckenbooth fabric heart would make a lovely wedding or anniversary keepsake gift and later can be passed down the generations.. It can be personalised to include a couple's initials on the front and date of wedding or anniversary on the back.
Skills level: straight forward to make and suitable for those with basic sewing / embroidery skills, they can be machine or hand sewn together (or a combination of the two). Embroidery stitches required are back stitch and satin stitch (there are lots of free online tutorials available for these two stitches).The finished fabric heart measures approx. 15cm (6") in length and 13cm (5 1/8") ) in width.
The pattern contains a supplies list, detailed instructions with photos and full size templates..
This pattern is copyright protected, mass production, re-sale and distribution of pattern pieces and instructions is prohibited. Crafters may sell any Luckenbooth hearts they make from this pattern, however Zouzou Design would like a design credit in any accompanying marketing material.
