Family of Heather Haggis, as can be determined from their colour. They are one of the lesser known breeds of haggis, the better known one being the odd leg hill haggis.
These have the longer fur and the lovely heather colour so they blend in with the heather and the silver sheen of the barer stalks. The females have 3 legs and the males have four, this is the only external feature that determines which sex is which.
I wanted to make something else no one else had made, ever. I knew other people had made hill haggis, but when i thought about what yarn i had available to me at that point, i had just got some of this womens institute yarn and the colour reminded me of the colour of heather that was coming out slowly on the land around us and the heather haggii were born :0)
