I found a piece of oak board that was going to be thrown away or used as fire wood by the supplier, but saw that it had potential to become some nice items. The oak cleaned up very nicely and I decided to make useful items out of what would have otherwise had no use.

Reclaimed Oak folding trivet, Danish oil finish. 180mm x 180mm x 18mm. A folding trivet made from reclaimed oak, in two pieces which join into a cross and can be taken apart for ease of storage in a drawer or hung up. The two parts are joined by a micro fibre leather alternative which is food safe, colour fast, washable and heat resistant. The oak has cleaned up to have a lovely appearance and finish. A very useful kitchen item.
