Full description
Handmade embossed copper plaque, design with two doves and branches.
I have made this copper plaque using my own original design of birds. Using the repousee method popular with the Arts and Crafts Movement, I have raised a design in sheet copper.
The copper has then been oxidised to darken the colour and introduce depth when it is finally polished to a rich shine.
The finished copper piece has been mounted on an 8 inch square of wood.
To preserve the brilliant shine of the copper, this piece has not been varnished and will tarnish over time. To revive the shine, the copper will need to be cleaned occasionally with a
non-abrasive polish and a soft cloth.
This would make a lovely gift for a 7th Wedding Anniversary, housewarming or birthday present for someone who loves arts and crafts. It can be hung on a wall or displayed on a shelf.
