My mother collected sewing (and knitting) patterns. Mum's collection started before I was born (before the Cold War! that's all you're getting from me about my age!). All my clothes were made by her when I was young, including my underwear! She passed on her love of sewing, knitting and all kinds of crafting, to me in my genes, I suppose because, as soon as I was old enough, I started collecting my own 'vintage treasures' to add to mum’s accumulation, scouring charity shops and boot sales for them.

** There is an International Economy rate of postage provided by Royal Mail UK, if you don't mind the possibility of the package taking longer to get to you (it travels by surface mail, not airmail). This option applies to Outside Europe and the Rest of the World only. The main downside, as stated, is the time. Royal Mail quotes up to 6-8 weeks for Rest of the World (outside Europe). If you are interested in this option, please message me before purchase. I will create a listing just for you - using the Economy rate and will let you know the listing is ready for your purchase commitment. Thank you ** ***All postage rates quoted are for straight posting. If you require insurance to be added to your postage, please message me before purchase. I will create a listing just for you - with the option of insurance added and let you know the listing is ready for your purchase commitment. Thank you***
Please note that if your order is being posted outside mainland UK, you (or the recipient) may have to pay customs or VAT charges and a handling fee. The seller is not responsible for any charges or fees that may incur.
This 1973 pattern has only 6 ‘easy cut, easy sew’ pieces and can be made up from an assortment of materials, such as denim, terrycloth, canvas, poplin, cotton, jersey and even printed silk.
Short, midi or long, what kind of kimono is preferred? A kimono is always useful.
Chest: 42-44”
This is a vintage paper pattern. It is complete. It has been used but is in very good condition.
I know it says it is a man’s pattern, but way back in 1973 ‘his’ and ‘hers’ was all the rage. Today, we are far more relaxed about fashion and this would make a lovely, snuggly, kimono for a woman too, either for just stepping out of the bath or for a cosy night in watching a film or reading a book.
