During a beautiful beach walk on what was a particularly stormy looking day, I noticed the deep blue of the sea and the choppy waves in the distance. Also, since the tide was out, I was able to see a good deal of the beach and the wet pebbles gleaming back up at me.
When creating this piece I decided to abstract the images and then place them back together in order to best represent what most struck me visually. With the overarching of the wave and the circular image, it is almost as though I am viewing a seascape that has been captured inside a marble!

This painting was originally created using watercolour paints, utilising a warm palette to depict the beach pebbles and land whilst the sea, boat and sky are better represented by cooler colours.
This artwork was re sized and printed on Inkjet paper 220 gsm. A card mount has been added for your convenience.
