The green that was used, by the makers of these buttons, is a very pretty, muted olive green. I can see this hue being used with russets and golds, all kinds of autumnal colours.
Each button has a flat back plate so the buttons will sit nicely on your chosen fabric, thick or thin.
The front of the buttons is slightly domed. The design has been enhanced by having a moulded, thin depression around the central part of the button, but within the outer rim. It is just enough to give these buttons a little ‘lift’ in their design.
The central hub has the 2 holes needed to attach to the garment. The holes are quite small, which tells me that these buttons would work perfectly on thin materials – they would not drag the button hole down as they are quite light in weight.
Each button is 16mm in diameter.
I have THOUSANDS of buttons, all sorted & attached to cards, & I will be listing them as often as I can. If you don't find the ones you like this week, please try again next week, or the week after. Of course, if you don't have the time for that, but you know what you are looking for, or even just have an inkling of an idea, contact me with your request & I will search through the collection for you.
My mother and grandmother both had stashes of buttons, most of which were purchased before I was born (and I remember the ‘Swinging 60’s’!).
I used to love to play with the buttons, plunging my tiny hands into the tins and jars of multi-coloured 'gems'. I spent hours sorting them into coloured piles, size relation piles, design piles and any other pile I could think of.
Decades later, after I had inherited the tins and jars of historical lovelies, I came up with the 'brilliant' idea of sharing the love with whomever would like to adorn their creations with something a bit different, a bit 'special'.
