My mother and I have amassed knitting patterns, sewing patterns and vintage buttons into quite the impressive collection. Dozens of knitting patterns, hundreds of sewing patterns and thousands of buttons have all been sorted, cateqorised and filed and are now available to you. It’s a daunting task, to get them listed here, but they need new homes. I hope you enjoy the selections.

As you can probably tell from the photo – this pattern has seen a lot of life. (Yes, there will be a discount because of that). OK, so how many clues tell you it’s from the 1970’s? The orange colour? The yellow headband which is holding down her incredibly large curly hair? The suggested use of crepe or nylon yarn? (By the time you put this cardigan on and walk to the front door you would have attracted all the soft furnishings in your house, together with the balloons belonging to the kid up the road, to stick to you.
The pattern is sized for a 34-40 inch bust.
This is a genuine pattern from the 1970's, not a PDF.
Thankfully, it also suggests double knitting wool use. Acrylic wool would be perfect as it is easy to machine wash and dries quickly.
I can’t crochet! I never conquered the skill. But for those of you who mastered the hook, this challengingly designed cardigan would look wonderful in a pastel colour for springtime wear.
Soon I’ll be listing my thousands of buttons, ranging from the 1920’s to the 1980’s, in the section ‘Vintage Buttons, Mostly’. If you can’t wait for a listing, and you’re looking for something special, message me and I’ll check through my stash for you.
Vintage designs and ideas are making a comeback these days and many retro patterns are still fashionable, just like this one.
