I just wanted to paint bangles, is the truth. I couldn't stop thinking about it. You've got to go with these things as an artist, I do believe. So I did!
I'll send your beauty wrapped in paper from an old map of Yorkshire, and tied with velvet ribbon. I chose the name for each bangle from the map itself, so they're pretty whimsical (like me). This one is 'Howgill'.

Full description

Each one of these wooden hand painted bangles is a work of art in itself. I’ve painted them much like I would a larger painting. But instead of canvas, I started with a blank wooden bangle.

After sanding and a base coat, I built up each colourful bangle design in layers, going where the paint took me. I like to paint by feeling my way – mixing colours and making marks and following my nose until I get to a happy resolution.

Each one is unique; a one of a kind addition to your wardrobe. These bangles are light to wear, and finished with two coats of clear satin, water and dirt resistant hardwax oil, which is made from natural oils and waxes.

Your bangle will arrive packaged carefully in tissue paper and bubble wrap, for protection. I’ll wrap all of that in paper from an old map, and tie it with a velvet ribbon, then pack for the post. Please keep and reuse any of the packaging where you can!

(I’m working towards using less plastic, but want to use up materials already in the studio before I buy new, more eco-friendly stuff.)

Caveats:

These bangles are made from wood, so do be careful with them, and also keep away from water.

Substances such as detergents, perfume, lotions etc may stain or discolour the finish, so keep your bangle safely away from such things.

Not intended for children. I have made these as grown up art objects!
