This is a 100% Bluefaced Leicester Super wash 4 ply no nylon high twist sock yarn and 20g sock mini are naturally hand dyed in the Yorkshire Dales , the yarn is locally spun just down the valley from me and is a Worstead spun yarn .

This yarn is a hand painted with natural dyes then Eco printed with plant elements when steamed to set the colours( the mini is naturally dyed). This technique has produced a beautiful variegated yarn with a myriad of purples & lilacs, a variety of pinks, coral, yellow and oranges .The mini skein is a beautiful earthy purple .

I only use natural dyes to dye yarn with, in both plant form and extract as well as minerals and insect ( e.g. Cochineal and Lac which are both scale insects which have been used traditionally for hundreds of years ) . I usually use Alum & Cream of Tartar to modify my yarn .

Dye Used : Logwood,Brazilwood & chalk modifier, madder, sorghum,cochineal.

To care for your yarn I would suggest that you always gently hand wash it in cool water with a gentle wool soap ( Inlike to use a no rinse wool wash )
