Item details
Shortly before the outbreak of Dutch Elm disease, our local tree surgeon offered us a small batch of Elm trunks which we set about milling and drying in our timber store. As with most of the more unusual native species, it sat unloved for some time as the majority of our customers wanted Pine, Oak, Ash or Mahogany style furniture. Whilst we used some to make a few shelves for a bar and a breakfast bar for a customers kitchen, we were reminded what a lovely timber it is and set about using the rest of our stock to produce these coat racks and shelfs. We are all about keeping it as close to nature as possible and retaining the character of the wood.
