This is a 100% Corriedale 4ply sock set, no nylon high twist sock yarn ( great durability & non superwash ) that is naturally hand dyed in the Yorkshire Dales, the yarn is locally spun just down the valley from me & is a Worstead spun yarn .

This yarn is a hand painted with natural dyes then Eco printed with plant elements when steamed. This technique has produced a beautiful variegated yarn with a myriad of warm & subtles tones of pinks, creams, oranges & yellows with pops of bright orange . It comes as a sock set with a plain coordinating mini skein, so you can a play with doing different coloured cuffs,heals and toes .

I only use natural dyes to dye yarn with, in both plant form & extract as well as minerals & insect ( e.g.Cochineal and Lac which are both scale insects & have been used traditionally for hundreds of years) I usually use Alum & Cream of Tartar to modify my yarn .

Approx 400mts/437yds(80mts/87mts) 4ply, Needles size:2.5 mm-3.5 mm

Dye Used: Madder, Lac, Pomegranate, Alder Buckthorn Bark,Onion skins, logwood,Cochineal.

To care for your yarn I would suggest that you always gently hand wash it in cool water with a gentle wool soap ( I like to use a no rinse wool wash )
