Item details

I will endeavour to post within 24 hours, but items may still take a long time to reach you due to the pressure under which the Post Office is working. Unfortunately I will no longer be able to send items to Northern Ireland.
Actual colours may vary. This is due to the fact that every computer monitor has a different capability to display colours and that everyone sees these colours differently. Therefore I cannot guarantee that the colour you see accurately portrays the true colour of the product.

I have to tell this story, in exactly the same words, whenever I put my grandson to bed. My grandmother used to do the same for me. An older grandson insists the shawl isn't finished, as I haven't included a coffin to indicate that the 'poor old woman is dead, of course'!

This item will be posted to you by XStitcherJoss within 3 days of receiving payment.

Full description

This is a soft pale cream acrylic shawl, cot blanket or wall-hanging. I have fringed the edges and hand-embroidered the story of 'The Old Woman who Swallowed a Fly' in the squares. The designs are entirely from my own drawings. The spider's web is stitched in a metallic thread and the rest in stranded cotton. The shawl measures approximately 24" (61cm.) by 39" (99cm.) within the fringe. It is hand-washable in cool water.

Designed by Jocelyn Hayes in Middlesbrough, North Yorkshire
