This is a stained glass suncatcher handmade using the Tiffany copper foil technique.
I've designed this for a commission for a Scottish, Irish present.
It incorporates a bright green Irish Shamrock inside which is a purple and green Scottish Thistle. I've infilled round these with iridescent frost marked clear glass.
Then bordered the circle with a clear blue with some white insets to represent the colours of the Scottish flag and to balance all the green of the Shamrock and thistle.
I've painted the little squares onto the back of the base of the thistle using my glass paints and baked it in the oven for permanency.
This is 14cm in diameter and I've framed it with twisted wire to make it strong and neat. It hangs from two points on the top by a silvery chain.
This item is absolutely unique. I never make two pieces exactly the same, I always use slightly different colours and textures of glass.
