Item details

This rectangular (landscape) wall hanging was created on thick block plywood, which measures 25cms x 14cms, and 24mm thick. The featured vehicle is a vintage Eccles trailer caravan, a famous British manufacturer. The artwork is a re-creation of a period advertising scene, showing a family camping in the great outdoors, surrounded by trees and mountains. The colour of this piece is ochre; two brass hanging hooks are attached, together with jute twine, so the artwork is ready to hang. The reverse is covered in a good quality green felt, to protect walls.

This particular artwork was inspired by an old Eccles caravan which used to sit in my aunty's orchard in the 1960s, which we would use as a den when visiting her; I was captivated by the leaded windows and the overal shape of the caravan.
