This is a stained glass suncatcher made using the Tiffany copper foil technique.
A brand new design for summer 2018 inspired quite simply by my need to make something new.
Not sure what variety of flower I have drawn but as I have dahlias outside my window it is probably one of those.
I've made a deep multi-petaled rose red flower using 3 types of lovely deep pinky rose glass. I've added a few little green leaves and filled the surround with different shades of purple and plum and palest rose red. Then framed in 2 shades of purple and with blue corners to set it all off.
I see this as a traditional style piece of stained glass but with a modern twist in its colouring.
This is beautifully bright and cheerful and casts really lovely colours when it hangs in the light of a window.
It is 14.5 cm x 18cm and hangs from a strong silvery chain which is securely attached at either side of the top.
My pieces are all unique. I use different shades and textures of glass to ensure that everything I make, even when to the same pattern, is different.
