I love making fabric baskets, especially the way that a flat piece of fabric becomes a useful three dimensional object. I have one at home that I keep all the odd socks in while they wait for their twin!

Stripy storage, what could be better?! I really love this ticking stripe fabric, and it looks brilliant lined with bright yellow-green. If you need to get your bits and bobs in order this fabric storage basket is a great way to do it in style. It's the perfect size for storing a few toys or all those extra cables that seem to accumulate. There's a little hand stamped label on the front saying 'neat and tidy, just so you know. Oh, and if you want a slightly different look, just fold down the top.
This basket is part of a small co-ordinating batch that I made, so it you want more than one or you'd like to see the other colour ways, have a look around my shop.
The outer fabric of the basket is made from a heavy creamy-white cotton with black stripes woven in, which I've added interfacing to for body. The little label on the front is made from cream cotton calico fabric, stiffened with interfacing, and stitched on with neon yellow thread. The basket is fully lined with gorgeous greeny-yellow cotton fabric and topstitched with white thread.
The basket measures approx 13.5cm (or 5.5") square at the bottom, and it is around 20cm (8") tall.
The basket will be gently folded for posting out to you, but you can give it an iron on a medium setting to get rid of any creases.
