Full description
This stunning scarf has been nuno felted using soft merino wool fibres on a silk chiffon base. Additional embellishment in the form of various fancy yarns has been added in a diagonal pattern prior to felting. The nuno felting process causes the wool to migrate through the silk and bind with it, trapping the yarn threads at the same time. Included in the yarn selection is some glitter ribbon yarn which gives the scarf some extra sparkle. The yarn threads have been left long at the ends of the scarf to create a multi textural tassel. The decoration has been added to one side of the scarf only with the reverse side felted with merino wool but left plain.
The scarf drapes beautifully around the neck and is amazingly lightweight. The body of the scarf measures approximately 120cm x 42cm (47" x 16.5") with the tassels adding an additional 38cm (15") to each end, giving an overall length of 196cm (77"). It would make a fabulous spring or summer accessory but equally usable in the cooler seasons.
An ideal gift, this scarf is provided wrapped in floral tissue paper.
Hand wash in warm water, do not machine wash or tumble dry.
